Israel may be a country that is new in its establishment, but the region that it occupies is taken to be a sacred land by three major religions of the world namely, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. This country was given as a token to the Jews who were victims of the Second World War holocaust, as a token offering by the rest of the civilized world in the year 1948 following, which the region got flooded with migrant Jews. While the history of the country is quite young, the land that it occupies is rich in historical significance.

This makes it a hot destination for backpackers and travel buffs. Those wishing to visit the country can do so by either taking a plane to the Ben Gurion International Airport, traveling by road or bus and the train. However, be aware that the entry restrictions imposed by the Israeli immigration can change at any time. Furthermore, visiting the country can automatically disqualify one to pay a visit to neighboring Islamic countries as they shall deny entry to all those who carry a passport with a Israel visa stamp.

Some countries even hold it as an offence and can jail their citizens for having visited Israel. When in Israel, always remember to plan your travel through the week except from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown as all bus services and train services are suspended as well as the shared taxi service is limited. The only way around at that time is to hitchhike or to call a taxi.
